Hey Crew, We decided that as educators of a lifestyle we have seen benefit many people and their lives….including ours, the title of the show did not accurately represent the total message that we want to share. We are building out a new site at www.thefreeradicals.com.au where we want to still spread the word of the advantages and benefits of a plant based lifestyle. We passionately believe and continue to follow and teach a plant based Raw Food diet, yet it was a roadblock to those who did not get the “Raw Food” aspect of a lifestyle for healthy aging and energetics. A prominent theme throughout the interactions we have with listeners of the podcast and participants of our events and market days was one of a specific intolerance to the food groups around dairy and wheat products. As it seems with all things there will be the prophets of doom, the naysayers and sceptics in regards to a shake up or examination of accepted nutritional values. Yet the results of the dietary and nutritional intake we insist in partaking of, in our western culture and the  consequences that are showing up as we age and even in our young children is alarming. It has always been our intention to stimulate thought and action in a person to examine their life and see if it fits with their idea of what health and vitality is. To many people have accepted ill health and disease, lack of vitality as a consequence of aging. The health  and vitality decline seen as a person ages has been attributed as a consequence of the effect of old age. There are many factors that play the hand of age related illness. The physical count of how many time we go around the sun on this bit of rock called the earth, is not the only correlation to age related infirmity. So we still call on you the reader and listener to examine the “truths” and accepted ways of doing things but the need for us to bang the “Raw Food” drum is not as critical to what we perceive as our message to bring awareness to the more invasive and accepted products that have immediate and long term damage to both the environment and your health. We still continue to be barefoot runners and competitive age group athletes. Our content production for our new podcast and site will be  aimed more at education and alternatives for dairy and gluten  products in recipes and lifestyles. As well as our commitment to healthy active sport participation we hope to be positive signposts to others by leading a lifestyle full of energetic and mindful living. The concepts of Mindfulness and and energetics are still as relevant to us, as is the issues of consuming as much unprocessed and environmentally sustainable foods, goods and services as we can in the hope of a being part of the rise in consciousness that needs to be taken by humanity for its next elevation to greater possibilities  of harmonious relationships between all facets of life here on this planet we call Earth.

Other grains that can contribute to wheat belly include: Barley, rye, triticale (a cross between wheat and rye), bulgur, farina, kamut, seminola, durum flour, and spelt. I have tried the sourdough type of bread which is supposed to decrease the gluten effect but a story that interested me being as i know I have a digestive issue is other antinutrients in whole grains include enzyme inhibitors. These can inhibit digestion and put stress on the pancreas; containing irritating tannins; complex sugars which the body cannot break down; and gluten and related hard-to-digest proteins.
