It is most likely the host, and other guests as there are very emotional-ties to how we see the partaking of food.

We continue to be swayed by the calls of multi national corporations to bundle every aspect of our lives into labels of convenience.

Less hassle, save time, instant, and all the other advertising material that beckons us to partake in the unsustainable level of oil based farming that is offered.

Social Implications Of A Raw Food Lifestyle

You may be thinking that it seems awkward to be only eating a raw food at family functions and the like, and yes it can be, but generally it is not you that is the one feeling awkward.

It is most likely the host as there are very emotional-ties to how we see the partaking of food.

This is an area I wish I could spend more time on and that is the emotionality to what we perceive as foods we need to feel satisfied with.

For most people the smell of a certain food is most likely to invoke a memory of some event that is either pleasant or unpleasant, to most, it is of a pleasant time.

The smell of a cooking B-B-Q brings back good times with family and friends perhaps, the taste of a chocolate ice cream when you and the love of your life strolled along the beach.

When in social gatherings I often get called on to defend the question of where do you get your calcium, with the assertion that to get the amount of iron you need I would have to consume kilos of Spinach and so on.

This comes up quite regularly when you are in a social circumstance,

Where as I can speak to the issues with authority and science. by far and away I will realize the question is not about a fear of not getting the correct dietary balance.

It is more so how people feel about being restricted to what at first would seem to be, a diet no longer full of the taste sensation they grew up with and the memories imprinted on the journey that is with them.

I am not one of the opinion that “cooked” food will kill you, there is enough debate and science to realize the 100% raw is not the benchmark of a healthy lifestyle.

If you feel you would benefit from reintroducing cooked items perhaps for social reasons or to stave off constant hunger, ( which can be more based on thoughts than actual nutrition needs) experiment with adding one food at a time.

The hidden cost of a desire to be social and to to not make people around you feel uncomfortable, has to be dealt with on your own personal level

Unfortunately  as a culture, we  are straying away from the basic understanding that fresh fruit and vegetables in our lifestyle are one of the most important element in a bodies ability to thrive.

The component of “convenience”  foods is steering us away from being cognizant of farming and consumer practices that are environmentally unsound and ethically questionable.

We continue to be swayed by the calls of multi national corporations to bundle every aspect of our lives into labels of convenience.

Less hassle, save time, instant, and all the other advertising material that beckons us to partake
in the unsustainable level of oil based farming that is offered.

Oil based farming inefficiencies, especially for grain, and cattle ,should be addressed as long term problems rather than short term gains for cheap and overused foods.

Possible results involved in staying with a thought process of dietary and energetic actions that have seen health and environmental decline all in the name of convenience, will continue to see the balance that needs to be reached for sustainable and healthy lifestyles erode even more.

It is all part of a system that you can choose not to encourage and bring to the attention of your social connections, by way of your mindfulness of the ramifications on our health and your deliberation to look at other choices.
